The Dunghuang Manuscripts were collected in the 8th or 9th century for unknown reasons and were placed in a cave along what is known as The Silk Road. When the cave was opened in 1900, another dilemma presented itself; the script on the documents was so ancient, there was no one, even among Western Tibetologists, who could read them. When eventually they were translated, they opened a window onto an ancient world that no one expected to find. It was in these documents, along with Tibetan and Chinese sources, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, found the inspiration for his latest work "The History of the Tibetan Empire".
This DVD gives you a front row seat as His Holiness e presents the first printing of "The History of the Tibetan Empire" to the public during a visit to the Rubin Museum in New York City. This fascinating DVD is in Tibetan, with English subtitles.
