  • I completed this game few days ago, it's so sad...

  • @rinkuhero I love how the other guy acts all "lol im cool", but he basically insults what you like whilst tries to get you to respect what he likes.

It's no use arguing (even if I am 11 months late lol).

  • Zelda 2 was abysmal. I actually love the rest of the series though.

  • @rinkuhero Na, man. I'm not upset. Seriously. It's cool you like what you like. I think it's funny that you choose to defend this game that I didn't like with another game I didn't like. Made me laugh anyways.

Don't think less of me for not liking Zelda seriously-why-can't-I-just-attack-these-guys-in-the-over-world-map 2.

  • @cymonsgames zelda2 is my favorite zelda game yeah. i don't know why it upsets you so much that people would like games you hate. do you expect everyone to like the same games?

  • @rinkuhero Wait.

waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Now you're holding up Zelda 2 as a good game? Zelda where-the-heck-did-this-platforming-part-come-from 2? Zelda no-seriously-I-just-touched-this-dude-and-now-I'm-platoforming 2? I didn't even know about the sleeping princess thing, never gave it that much of a shot.

Clearly you and I don't see eye-to-eye on our tastes. ;)

  • @cymonsgames good games can have stupid parts too -- like why are there two zeldas in zelda 2 (one that falls asleep and the one you saved in zelda 1), and why does one vanish? doesn't make it a bad game cause cause parts of it don't make sense.

  • @rinkuhero Yeah, but in game that raises questions of freewill and agency to have you throw yourself off a cliff at the end without motivating that action is just stupid. Make it an accident. Make him discover that if he lives things will be worse. Make him make the wrong decision, watch the world collapse around him, and have to push himself over the edge.

There was this big set up and the delivery was thpppt.

  • @cymonsgames the atmosphere and sounds, mainly.

and i'm a fan of nonlinearity too but i don't dislike games just because of linearity; some of my favorite games are linear. visual novels are linear and are often great games. there's thousands of enjoyable linear games, including the original portal. even super mario bros. is linear (aside from the warp zones), at least in this game you can go back a screen, unlike smb1.

  • @rinkuhero Now, I don't care if you don't like ASCIIpOrtal, that I can understand. But what is there to like about this game. I mean, I'm as big a fan of blocky graphics as the next guy and "Little Worlds" (which I immediately thought of when I saw this) was epic. But this one is so friggin linear you may as well just watch the movie than play the game. And that ending! You have to throw yourself off the cliff, but why? Because you have to. There's no motivation for it. The game sucks.
