  • I knew he was not a vampire, all the rest is so interesting and certainly does answer some questions. This is a very intriguing topic, one that has intrigued me for years :) I love watching documentaries on the subject. Thank you all for your answers. MeL :) would certainly love to visit those castles myself someday :)

  • he spoke for sure Romanian...because it a was a custom for Romanian nobiles to send their sons to "study" in the Otoman Empire...his first army that he lead in batle was Turkish infantery troops when he gain the right to rule the Romanian Country (the souther part of today's Romania)...the legend is that he spoke perfectly Turkish...and he is one of the first army leaders of his time that invented and perfected the art of atacking and ambushing at night...

  • Today's Romania is not the same as the country in the time of Vlad Ţepeş. He was native to Wallachia, but his family lived in exile in Transylvania.

Cruel? He was given as hostage by his ruling father to the Ottomans to avoid invasion. Having learned about Muslim beliefs while captive, as a ruler he fought them the best way he could with a much smaller army. He captured some of the Turks and impaled them alive (as well as many other terrible things) as a warning to the invading armies.

  • he was romanian, but he was not a vampire..he was just a cruel man...

  • and i supose Austrian, hungarian or Turkish are also possible. One thing i read was that bram stoker having gotten legend from the book Camilla in her version of vlad it was in Austria rather than Wallachia.??

  • you do great videos perhaps you can tell me what language vlad tepes spoke? i have heard theories of sanskrit to greek to romanian possibly even Latin or germaan???
