Celes' leap of suicide. This is the Japanese text, into English. Much more graphic compared to Woolsey.

  • Shitty translation. Fixes censorship, but it's too literal and awkward.

  • @CCrockyourass I have to agree somewhat. I didn't like magitek being called "Magic Based Armor". everything is just "magic based"

  • Good grief, I didn't realise it was quite this DARK in the Japanese...

I vaguely remember this part of the game but for some reason I don't remember a suicide leap. How did they cover it up?

  • @DGneoseeker1 She still tried to kill herself in both the GBA, SNES, and PSX versions. Just the dialogue was censored... Basically the US dialogue in this scene suggested that the other survivors jumped off the cliffs and it "perked em' right up".

  • "One died quickly, another went mad and killed himself, another died of sorrow, one drowned himself, and the last one jumped of the cliff at the North Cape... perked 'em right up!"

  • in my opinion this is sadder than aeris' death

  • This is much more accurate than Woolsey's translation. I know Locke's theme wouldn't have fit, but I feel like one of the devs was trolling by using Rachel's theme at 2:10.

  • She must've really cared about that giant banana

  • Thank you america for giving us that shitty leap of faith in american's version! ...

    _I_

  • The best FF game I've played, good storyline, multiple characters, lots of loss and gain hope, it's all about friendship ---- from different parts of the world, waaahhh it's a sad sad world how hard they're fighting for this crazy and doomed world.

  • @AbsolutZeroGI1 Definitely agreed with you and PsychoB. The censorship in the SNES version kind of dampened the impact of the scene. It makes much more sense when the original script is restored.

  • The dead dove, they come back in a big way in the ending

  • @JohnnyRockerman

    one of SNES's best

  • @BinaryDood Well, I thot Celes "death" was pretty sad. Even thought she didn't die, you don't know that the first time you play it (though I've never played it either). I kinda want to play VI though. Looks like a pretty good game.

  • @JohnnyRockerman

I do agree... I was spoiled about Aerith's death and it made me kinda sad... Celes suicide, of wich I wasnt even spoiled about it, never really got my attention... maybe because there was the option of saving Cid... or because she didnt die at all

  • @corvettez06usa

I can see that you are simply blinded by unfair comparations... and awfully biased aganist a great game... and everything you just said.. god, so much wrong in that
