"The constitutional integrity of the states is our best defense. That is why the Communists, at home and abroad, have made it an important objective to destroy our States' rights. One of the duties of conservatism is to restore States' rights. And the best way to begin is to drain off this reservoir of unlimited money power that has collected in the federal bureaucracy as a result of the Sixteenth Amendment..." - Eddie Rickenbacker, 1961

  • "States' rights" should never EVER trump civil rights.

  • @doczg88 States rights does not work what if calafornia one day decides they want to Bomb Texas. Or what if one state decides it wants to be north korea what do you do then?

  • Great man.

  • @mspinkytee Why not keep your private life secret? For what I read he was very warm towards her and she made no complaints of him.

  • When he ran for President, he was probably the best candidate in the race

  • @mspinkytee Ok, he should have never slept with a black woman in the first place, especially out of wedlock, but at least he gave child support throughout the child's life. As far as standing up for the Constitution he was a great American.

  • @Sistarovat Really? A great man, who kept his black daughter a secret. Who was prejudice against black men, but okay with sleeping with their young beautiful black women, in private. He was a fake, not great!

  • @shwimble I've never read the particular civil rights bill that he tried to filibuster, but if it's anything like the Civil Rights Act of '64, it's unconstitutional. Congress does not have the Constitutional authority to force a private business owner to hire someone he doesn't want to or let someone on his property that he doesn't want on his property. If you buy a piece of property with you money and open a store with your money, you have the right to serve whom you please.

  • @Sistarovat I hope you're kidding....the guy coducted the logest fillibuster i the history of the coutry agaist the civil rights bill

  • A great man and American patriot.
