Technical Analysis assumes both public and insider information are priced into a stock. This essential combination can be expressed through the relationship between stock price and volume over time.

While not a method of 'predicting the future,' as often believed, technical analysis measures probabilities, identifies 'buy' and 'sell' signals, and minimizes risk.

MC ratings are updated for the stocks on the spreadsheet daily.

How to get the pivot point (PP) program just email me and you do need to be a subscriber to our YouTube page! In the email add you screen name too please and with the subject "PP Calculator" then we will get it right out to you. (tradewithmojo@gmail.com)

The rules for the setup are simple to use pivot points:

For shorts:

1. Identify bearish divergence at the pivot point, either R1, R2 or R3 (most common at R1).
2. When price declines back below the reference point (it could be the pivot point, R1, R2, R3), initiate a short position with a stop at the recent swing high.
3. Place a limit (take profit) order at the next level. If you sold at R2, your first target would be R1. In this case, former resistance becomes support and vice versa.

For longs:

1. Identify bullish divergence at the pivot point, either S1, S2 or S3 (most common at S1).
2. When price rallies back above the reference point (it could be the pivot point, S1, S2, S3), initiate a long position with a stop at the recent swing low.
3. Place a limit (take profit) order at the next level (if you bought at S2, your first target would be S1 ... former support becomes resistance and vice versa).

  • GM fourth quarter loss widens to $9.6 billion

  • Doesn't a 4 million square mile country absolutely need to at least retain the ability to manufacture trucks? Or should I just go ahead and buy that horse I have been eying?

  • Blast furnaces are rarely deactivated, except for maintenance, because cooled steel trapped inside can make them difficult to restart. No leading steelmaker has shut one down to adjust production in about seven years, according to Nikkei.

Steel makers are faced with slowing orders from automakers -- their top customers - and began reducing output in October.

  • A plan under which debtholders would swap their securities for equity, The Wall Street Journal reported. GM is to argue that a short-term loan from the government plus accords with creditors and unions should enable the company to stay in business as a leaner, viable firm, the Journal reported. GM is carrying $43.3 billion of debt and paying $2.9 billion a year of interest on it, the Journal reported, citing J.P. Morgan Chase estimates.

  • CDS are a common type of derivative contract that pay out in the event of default. When CDS spreads widen it means investors are willing to pay more for protection against defaults. A spread of 247 basis points means an investor buying $10 million worth of protection must pay $247,000 a year.

GM and the others are going to the moon!

  • Domestic auto manufactures "have been hammered with the consequences of the meltdown on Wall Street and the financial panic." So says Mike Jackson, CEO and Chairman of AutoNation. He tells Tracy Johnke "if the credit panic hadn't occurred, these manufacturers would not be in Washington asking for assistance."

  • A deal to merge General Motors with Chrysler has hit an impasse after the Bush administration ruled out funding for it, Reuters reported, citing three people with direct knowledge of the talks. The move essentially freezes talks until after the election and also opens the door for Chrysler owner Cerberus Capital Management to re-start alliance talks with the existing alliance of Nissan Motors.

  • GM also will cut salaried worker benefits, including eliminating matching payments into 401(k) plans and further changes to be announced soon, according to the letter from GM Chief Executive Rick Wagoner and Chief Operating Officer Fritz Henderson.

  • A GM-Chrysler deal would be a highly complicated maneuver, which would involve the rationalizing of more than 100 automotive plants and about 190,000 employees in North America. It would also likely force a streamlining of 11 automotive brands -- from Chrysler to Cadillac -- and more than 10,000 auto dealers in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
