Go toward the light es la verdadera historia de Claire y Greg Madison (Linda Hamilton y Richard Thomas) y su lucha con el conocimiento que su hijo mayor, Ben, ha contraído el sida. Esto golpea a la familia con una brutalidad casi destructiva. Según los médicos, Ben tiene menos de un año de vida. Por doloroso que sea, Claire y Greg tiene que aceptar el destino inalterable de Ben. Tienen que dejar de lado su propio dolor abrumador y temores y preparar a Ben para enfrentarse a su muerte que se aproxima con el mismo amor y el coraje con que lo había estado preparando para la vida.

That is so true.I mean the part about people being aware thier going 2 die ahead of time.My 12 year old daughter was aware of it just before she died.We were watching t.v. and just out of the blue,she said mom for some reason i dont think im gonna live much longer.I just looked at her and said,Angel dont even think of such things.And about 2 maybe 3 mounths later she went home 2 be with JESUS.

I totally agree, but that's how it was back then, too much fear not enough facts known by the general public. Even blood banks weren't necessarily testing the blood donated for AIDS because the test, for hepatitis I believe, that could detect the antibodies was only like 80ish percent effective and seen too expensive to run by many. People were dying, but... There was so much fear and prejudice surrounding AIDS in the 80's and 90's, It's appalling to look back at all this now.

I know this movie was made in the late 80's, but jeez, the school board people are so ignorant about AIDS!!
