Dr Trista Patterson is an economist who specialises in systems-level solutions. A former Meadows Fellow (2007), she has studied at the University of Siena, Italy; the Santa Fe Institute; and the Institute for Ecological Economics (PhD 2005, UMD) lab, where estimates of global ecosystem service value were first attempted. Intrigued by the technically savvy demographic ages 13-29, and the future leverage they will wield on ecosystem services worldwide, Patterson began experimenting with social and digital media in her free time. She helped launch the TEEB site www.bankofnaturalcapital.com, curates @TEEB4me, and founded Project PIMBY (a photographic exploration of cultures of consumption).
Love these 10 points, Trista!

Thanks for putting yourself and your ideas out there, Trista! Your talk helped me better understand the power that the younger generation has to make positive systems change, especially through the shift from a focus on the material to the experiential, and through girls' literacy and subsequent decision-making.
