Today (February 27, 2009) I had a package of BEER delivered by BEERmerchants.com.

Video for this blog post: http://richard.mackney.com/beer-from-beermerchantscom

We filmed the opening! and here is the raw unedited 720p - straight from SD card footage. (Sorry for the out of focus camera work, the auto focus is just tooooo slow on this HITACHI DZ-HV564E when using the 5x Optical zoom!)

(View in HD ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2zVM5B9N9k&fmt=22 )

This pack was selected and arranged by @beermerchants on twitter - THANK YOU.

As I open each bottle I will send images to twitpic ... however, as some of the beers are 9% I may not get very far!

A pic tweeted to twitpic at the time of opening. I think BEER is a popular subject as it racked up 200 views within 20 minutes.

All the descriptions below have been taken from http://BEERmerchants.com and can be purchased directly from them :)

Bath Ales, Barnstormer, 4.5%, 50cl, Bottle

Rich in fruit with hints of chocolate, this full-bodied dark ale derives its' character from deeply roasted malts. It is a complex but very satisfying beer.Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt (88%), crystal malt (10%), wheat malt (2%). Bramling Cross bittering hops, Golding aroma hops.

Bath Ales, Dark Hare, 4%, 50cl, Bottle
Region/Country: UK
Brewery: Bath Ales
A roasted barley aroma, a deep, dark colour and a smooth-yet-dry taste: all the hallmarks of an exquisite stout. Dark Hare is brewed using a blend of dark roasted malts and an old fashioned (and rather famous) English hop called Fuggles. These fine ingredients, together with brewers skill and diligence, have made this an impressive and seriously smooth stout. Made with wheat and barley malt

Bath Ales, Gem, 4.8%, 50cl, Bottle
Region/Country: UK
Brewery: Bath Ales
A rich aroma of hops and malt develops a full texture in the mouth. It has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. Without doubt an exceptional best bitter. Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops. Deep amber brown beer with a thin white head. Orange peel, leafy tobacco and soft chewy fruity malts. Quite earthy with a lot of medium caramel and some light dustiness. Nice lean bitterness on the back. Not very fruity at all, but there is a lingering deep rich maltiness with a touch of soft toasty sweetness.

Brugse Zot Dubbel, Dark Speciality, 7.5%, 33cl, Bottle

Brewery: Halve Maan
Medium bodied and well rounded, malty-caramel, Dark Speciality.

A great golden beer with a fresh citrus, hoppy aroma. This wonderful wholesome organic ale has a dry and bitter finish which brings you right back to earth.

  • Great beers! I haven't gotten into ordering beers on the internet. I usually trade beers with friends to get beers that I can not get in my area.

  • Thanks. I have started beer swapping now too :) I written about it on my blog.
