In Shanghai, Joe decides to do as the locals do and start the day with some T'ai Chi in the park. This ancient practice of movement and meditation gets him ready to meet his co-host, Tianran, at her home. Tianran's family is very welcoming, and teaches Joe to use chopsticks. Tianran, a former gymnast, promises to take Joe to the circus school for a class later on. First, she wants to take him on a tour of Shanghai, starting with the city's most famous landmark - the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. At the top of the tower, the duo takes in a breathtaking view of Shanghai.
