@alexavasquez1992 Well, I don't because I don't like to talk about what I'm ignorant of. I used to be a Christian, studied/read/memorized the Bible for many years, and can speak with a little more knowledge. There are far more ex-Christian theists in the US than ex-Muslim atheists.

I'm fairly certain clergy talk about gods more than your average atheist (bearing in mind YT atheists aren't a good sample of average - we're more outspoken than than most.)

@AngieAntiAtheist I am delusional, not insane! The Bible was written by a primitive culture with no scientific understanding trying to deduce and explain their experiences, including why women suffer during childbearing and men don't. Society was male-dominated, and therefore so, were the religious tenets. While there isn't as much profit in admitting this publicly, I assure you there are many Christian leaders who have accepted this truth. (Of course, that might be delusional on my part!)

@chrlpolk Okay, so you're not a literalist. :) Which sections of the Bible do you think are factually correct? Every non-literalist seems to have a different set of criteria, so I'd rather ask than assume.

@metalsusa1 well yea, the 'the kingdom of heaven is within' and if god (which is a title, not a name) live in heaven then he/she (or Elohim) is inside you so you should listen to your own heart's feelings to tell you what to believe in your own experiance. And I know that nothing stays the same, even science has shown me that every second its as if life is competely changed, different, new. And thank you, I will enjoy the day/night that 'god' put here for me to experiance :)

The consequence of an expanded conciousness is developed prefrontal lobes; which fascilitates an understanding of possession, lust, empathy, consequence etc. It's not vindictive but essential for man to leave the garden to 'Till the soil' in his transition from forager to civilized. Women to have 'great pain in child birth' as our frontal lobes grew larger than a primate's.

In the allegory God was in fact displeased; my theory is he knew the shit storm we would become before we'd get 'better'

God didn't lie; He told an incomplete truth. He didn't say, "You'll die today." He said, "...if you eat from it you shall surely die," meaning that Adam and Eve were supposed to live forever. Makes no sense when you consider a finite planet and go forth and multiply, but that's the Bible for you.

The serpent completed God's incomplete truth, but did lie when it said, "You surely shall not die." It neglected to say 'immediately'. Part of the alleged fall was death.

Just clarifying.

Faith will not turn heaven into earth. All systems brake down according to the 2nd law of thermodynamics. What is now wont be for long. Change is inevitable and that's a guarantee. Although be it billions of eons into the future, our universe is headed towards heat death and that will be that. Enjoy the rest of your day!

@metalsusa1 When did I call myself a christian? That label is an insult, for how it is projected today. The finding of your true god happens within, not in these mass gatherings that you are told you must go to and pay if you want Gods full love in heaven- a place you cant go to untill after you die, or at the end of time. I dont like church. I believe we can all live in heaven on earth if we have faith. And I dont distrust the bible, I distrust thoes who say only they can lead you to redemption
