Completion's sake. It helps with emersion, just like reading all the emails in the original Deus Ex did. And I was trying to be thorough.

You also get to see the effects of some of your actions in them.

I'm not so sure it's bad voice acting as it is bad mixing. It looks like they made each voice actor's parts into separate sound files but the "Talk Bullets" are supposed to be a joke where the interviewer is clearly just using his show as a soap box for his own opinions and not actually letting his guests respond to his "questions". The joke is easy enough to get but falls flat due to the bad programming/mixing causing a noticeable pause between sound files.
