@stead10pod Playing very well against who? Their easy group in the qualifiers? That doesn't say much at all. Or are you refering to their stunning performance at Euro 08. Oh wait, they didn't qualify for that. All I've seen is big names in their rosters but that's it.

just because a team plays against a bad team doesnt mean they cant put on a really good performance. yeh we played against easier teams, but we showed really good team play and did extremely well, i havent seen any oter teams put on such a good performance even against crappy teams.

So you're reasoning is that because a team does well against crappy opponents, they will do well in the WC? Wow. Have you ever thought of becoming a commentator or a writer for a sports magazine? I'll put in a good word for you.

That is how every good 'seeded' team qualifies for a major tournament. Holland and Spain who have had the most impressive qualifying campaigns (In Europe) had arguably weaker qualifying groups but still deserve their place as seeded sides, and as such can consider themselves amongst the favourites for the WC 2010. You have to be in it to win it after all. I don't think England will but they have a chance at least.

actually if you were intelligent enough to understand what i was saying and not patronise me you would realise that wasnt a point i was making to say we would do well in the world cup, it was just a counter statement to what you were saying about us only playing against bad teams. we did well against the bad teams because we played well, which shows we have the ability to play against the better teams. but considering we haven't really played many top notch teams recently it doesnt
