What has Obama accomplished, what has he changed for the better in Illinois or anywhere else? He can talk but can he make anything happen? John McCain has the experience and knowledge and track record to be our Commander in Chief.

quite the contrary: it means he knows about being a prisoner, not how to run or win a war. It means, in fact, he was in no position to KNOW anything about how Viet Nam was going at the time. Being in prison does not make you a strategist, it makes you someone who hates, quoting McCain, "gooks". McCain sees whole new swaths of "gooks" in the middle east.

What has that got anything to do with militairy strategy... I was a soldier who was captured and sustained torture. Well, that is brave, but does it make you an expert on war? No, fighting in a war doesn't give you foreign policy expertise...

Conservatives are judgmental bigots. Barack Obama does not deny his Islamic heritage. He is a practicing Christian. His family is no one's business and only shows the deep racism that runs through a conservative's belief system. Conservative's are closed minded and cling to an outdated system that was once the heart of racial and religious oppression and is apparently still very much alive in individuals like yourself. Sure Mr. McCain is a former POW but for what did he fight? Is Vietnam so bad now that it would have justified such a bloodshed in the 60s and 70s? I was in Vietnam last year. They are kind and polite. Sure there is poverty but there would be anyway (look at their neighbours). There isn't such a horrible dictatorship that would justify a war and they just didn't deserve to have that war. So, Mr. McCain, let ppl be POWs for more noble reasons than that of the politicians of your time.

mccain was a POW in Vietnam for 5 and a half years, including two straight years in solitary confinement and periods of torture. So I think he knows what he's talking about when he talks about the war.
