Jumping Dog Painting

A painting made by a toy dog! By using a jumping toy dog with a paint brush attached to its back, the dog was able to jump around the canvas making various marks. As my work explores the relationship between man and machine, the dog needed someone continuously to stand it upright once it had jumped. Colours and layers were picked using a random draw. Once the dog had jumped completely off the canvas, that particular layer would end and the new layer would begin. My work explores the boundaries of chance encounters and the authorship surrounding the artists involvement.
