Actually it's possible to cast Nicol on your first turn. A Swamp, four Dark Rituals, a Morgue Toad (and sacrifice it) and You can cast him.
But it's extremely unlikely to happen :D

In reality you can cast Bolas turn 4 in Standard.
Turn 1: Vivid Land
Turn 2: Land, Fertile Ground
Turn 3:Land, Garruk,
Turn 4: Land, Tap all untap 2 with Garruk (One being the fertile land)
Congratulations you can now cast Nicol Bolas In Walker Ramp or burn for 8

yeah but then you're left defenseless and if you were playing me with that strategy and deck you'd be dead before garruk hit the field. that or i'd fuck with you and when garruk or Bolas hit the field on my turn i'd O-ring them.
