Todd Fink of The Giving Tree Band squares off with Colin Fahey of How Far To Austin on the WGN morning news for the first ever dueling banjos competition.
I was at the festival he's promoting, and the Giving Tree Band melted my face. My buddy mytalltripod has a reallly good video of one of their tunes up on yt. Had never seen them before, and I can't wait to see them again.
I could do without the fake hillbilly AND the two commenters here before me; RecipeCollector thinks the point of posting this video is to blow people away when it's really just a nice little TV spot for a couple of musicians. And my advice to Shalacrity is to look beyond faithful covers and just listen to the music.
The sound's not loud enough... :(

Good musicaly, but neither one sounded much like the real song.

He isn't a bad banjo player at all. In fact, he's pretty good. But I've certainly played more difficult than that...
Good banjo player for sure.
