Anything the President tried to do that actually would have succeeded the Republicans in congress blocked. They do not want Obama, and therefore the American people, to succeed. Actually, Kennedy sent over US Air Force cargo planes to support French forces. Trainers and advisors came a little later.

The Maddox was captured by North Korea many years after the Gulf incident. No US war ship was sunk in that attack. Vietnam started in the 50's under Kennedy. You reall have no sense of history do you?

@Zader15 If you're talking about the Apache incident, it was already well known and being investigated way before he leaked those footage. Like i said i don't like the stuff they do either. But BM did it in a manner which affected many families.
