Simon Jones is Joel Osteen!

Okay, it's not a great impersonation, but then I'm not going for any awards here, I was just goofing around and to be fair I don't think it's too bad for someone who usually speaks with a British accent.

To answer some common questions...

IS IT REALLY LAKEWOOD CHURCH?
Yes. I was in Houston visiting friends and I wanted to see the place.

HOW DID I MANAGE TO GET TO THE STAGE?
I walked into the building and onto the stage without encountering one person. There was no security or staff around at all - And frankly as I church I am glad that was the case!

THIS IS DISRESPECTFUL TO JOEL
No it isn't. I was kidding around. If Joel was there and he had seen that I think he would have laughed. If I was trying to be disrespectful then believe me, you wouldn't be confused about that!

DO I LIKE JOEL?
I neither like nor dislike him. He's a TV preacher who enjoys massive personal wealth. I find that a little hard to swallow given that there are probably better things we could all be doing with our money rather than buying multiple houses and cars, but at the same time Joel is a motivational speaker who preaches a message of wealth and well being much like Anthony Robins. If I was a churchy person however, I don't think Joel would be a pastor I would choose, not because of his vast wealth, but instead because I think Pastors should be approachable people who are in touch and available to their congregation. Joel is a celeb and I would suspect he is as reachable in real life as you would expect a celeb to be.

Niggas always hating on Joel, you need to go out in the world and produce. Funny how Jesus hung out with the sinners, bringing about a kingdom conscience and not worrying about what church people are doing. Go and produce 50 thousand members then make a comment about Joel. Go to the clubs and the bars and get someone saved. Opps I forget you haters are to religous. Sorry I forgot they only listen to Joel. While I think there is indeed a significant number of "haters" who are religious churchy types that simply don't like him because he's not doing things there way, my observations would be somewhat different to those "niggas."

I think that while Joel is indeed engaging, his teaching is very 'lite' and utterly lacking in the serious 'meat' of the Bible. In effect he teaches a kind of great tasting 'McChristianity' which as yummy as that might be, can't be considered a serious or healthy diet.

Joel osteen says both words... repent, and sin at the end of every program!!! why does ppl say he never mentions it? I've seen several hellfire preachers that don't use those two words EVERY sermon.. but joel does. "I never like to close our broadcast without giving you an opportunity to make Jesus the lord of your life. Just say, lord jesus i REPENT of my SIN, come into my heart, be my lord and savior...."

Say ole chap, try outdoors next time, Stonehenge. As a matter of fact, get to every church, behind the pulpit, and put it on youtube so we got you preaching in more places that Joel. Keep it rolling, they still might make a preacher out of you just yet. But the socks has to go.

SOAMC, this is not a vid on Osteen, that's one of the other vids.....this one is a guy who is trying to make some money, but there are a lot of empty seats out there. By the time he gets out of there, he'll probably had to pay for just walking up there.
