1979 British GP at Silverstone, Jabouille comes to the pits in order to change pretty worn out tires. Unfortunately, the whole procedure gets little chaotic and unlucky driver leaves the pits with damaged car. Nice clip to see how tire change looked like in these pioneer times.

  • I was there camping for the weekend with my mate Neil. He knew some guys in the Ensign team so we spent a lot of time in the paddock. I got George Harrison's record "faster" signed by every driver on the grid. Over the years I lost it!!!! Oh, I wish I still had it. . I was 17 and the sun felt like it would shine forever. Good times.

  • You are correct. Was a air hose.

  • Wasn't this James Hunt's debut as a guest commentator? Do you have any more caps of this race?

  • Was it the jack that broke the wing? It looks to me like the air hose was caught on the wing. I think I could even see the hose whipping around after breaking.
