I think they should have had him try to heal another guru instead of a dog. Then you'd get TWO fake healers for the price of one.

That dog is a hero. Please fight against any sort of faith healer. You will not get better from faith healing. Science will ALWAYS defeat myth.

I have a profound respect for what the guru busters are doing.

WHY DID THEY TEST IT ON A CUTE DOG. THEY SHOULDA TESTED IT ON A UGLY HUMAN!!! GOD DAMN IT!
-
Its unfortunate the dog had to die to teach people something they should have known already just by common sense. This is a perfect example of the stupidity and uselessness of religion as a whole.
-
I feel sad for the dog but the guy made a good point about the guinea pigs, etc. We Westerners are so squemish!
-
This is awesome. Putting aside the political correctness of religious tolerance, some superstitious part of religion actually causes tremendous suffering, as shown in this video. It is absolutely necessary to put these superstition under rational examination.
-
Aw, poor doggie! At 3:27 "Please, just let me die in peace!"

@thisbemyteevee "the dog had had any faith in the guru's mantras" - Gurus don't have any magical powers.
-
@socal1982 Gurus are either frauds or are deluded and think they have powers. Sai Baba is definitely a fraud. Also just because Western countries believe in a guru doesn't make that guru genuine.
We don't need religion or supernatural beliefs to be compassionate and to feel great love. We can all do that with or without religion. Religion is redundant in the modern age.

@Givemeabreakpleaseok Yes, exactly, and it appears that most of the crowd already didn't accept faith healers. But, because of this video, others who may still accept faith healers will have something to think about. I REALLY doubt they'll change as easily as this guy did or at least claimed he did.
What happened in the end? Who won? I couldn't watch this video past the 1:48 mark, because I couldn't watch that innocent dog suffer.

The dog died. Understandably many people find this scene distressing, but my aim was to provide an honest and accurate report rather than entertainment. That said, this is an edited version, which spares the audience some of the most gruesome details. The other side of the coin is that many people die from snakebite in India when they put their trust in deluded quacks and their useless remedies.

roberte207, do you think that all gurus in India are frauds? There are some that are even popular in the USA, like Ammachi, Mother Meera, Shree Ma, etc.

I know nothing about these people and have no comment to make about them.
