Once I discovered that SP3 had better hard drive support - I simply stopped using SP2.

@jaseman125 Have you ever gotten the "press f6 to install third party driver" floppy to work? I've always had to fiddle in the bios or do some slipstreaming to fix sp2. The floppy seems to always fail.

You may need a floppy disc if it requires 3rd party raid drivers during the Windows installation. However service pack 3 does have better support for hard drive controllers. I'm guessing this was prior to service pack 3. But never-the-less he shouldn't have gone off on one just because you wanted to check the details and call back. Then again, you stated that you didn't want to buy the speakers that are supplied, the fact that they were not included in the price shouldn't matter in this case

dells will take a beating, but they still suck. the only halfway decent dell is the xps, and even a custom built pc is much better. alienware is overrated.

The salesman sounds like my Romanian mate (I'm tempted to call him a little girl, since he likes the phrase so much). Ridiculous, it's not the buyer's fault that this guy needs his commission or whatever.

LOL!! ... that's the funniest thing I've heard in a while, I work for tech support, I can't believe this agent can get away with feeding a line of crap like that about the floppy drive and mocking the potential customer after he decided not to go with the deal.

Dell has terrible tech support. Three different calls with three different diagnoses of what was wrong with my computer. Complained to a Manager and she suggested I use their premium pay support service. WTF. I avoid Dell and only use Sony
