  • re: NoCensorshipYT

People can't hire employees, because the cost of providing them healthcare is too high.

We need to lift that burden off employers.

  • The little weasel with a face like a vagina stands up to serve the interests of his home state insurance companies. God I hate that little prick.

  • Lieberman's point is to be a paid whore for the insurance companies in his home state.

So don't trust gov't or the private insurance corp's. Let 'em both have a plan & let us choose the one we like. Every other advanced nation now has both some form of public option and private insurance options. It's time for the U.S. to catch up.

  • Lieberman is what you would call a paid whore for the insurance companies in his home state.

  • "Sen. Lieberman has long been known to cultivate the insurance and pharmaceutical industries, which provide jobs in his home state and contributions to his campaign fund. But he has literally been sleeping with one of their Washington representatives ever since his wife, Hadassah, joined Hill & Knowlton last year. The legendary lobbying and PR firm hired her as a senior counselor in its health and pharmaceuticals practice.

  • The health reform now being considered is deficit-neutral only because it relies on tax increases. Even if these increases are only on the wealthy, the result will be losses in employment, when wealthy people decide not to take on new projects that would have created jobs because the increased taxes make these marginal projects unprofitable.

It is really stupid to raise taxes during economically hard times. It hurts the poor much more than the rich.

  • Does the food industry have a monopoly right now? If they did, would you propose that the govt take over the provision of food?

We'd all be standing in long lines, as they did in the USSR, and as millions are doing today to get the govt-distributed H1N1 flu shot.

Every other advanced nation has a national religion too. Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't mean it is good.

In Canada, private health ins. is illegal.

Monopoly is bad, even if the govt runs it.

  • The Insurance Industry has a monopoly right now. Don't trust gov't or private insurance. Let em both set up plans & you can choose the best one. Unless, of course, you believed another GOP & insurance co. lie, that "it would drive the private insurance out of business". Fact is virtually every other advanced nation has adopted some form of public option & yet still has private insurance options. Why does anyone believe that the U.S is the only nation that can't make it work?

  • The CBO originally estimated that the HC reform would add to the deficit, and the GOP and Fox News was mentioning the CBO in every other sentence. Since then, with the amendments, the CBO predicted that it would reduce the deficit or be deficit neutral. How many times do you hear Republicans or Fox mention the CBO now?

  • I tried to phone that little weasel, (The phone number for Lieberman Conn. office is (860) 549-8463) but naturally his "mailbox is full".

    I'll keep trying.

  • I hope Lieberman is so worried about bailouts, that he voted against the Wall Street bailout.

    LOL

    What a hypocrite he is!
