gotta love the chevy astro

My dad had a 93 2wd astro put 205,000 miles on it and it ran amazing. But the gas tank was leaking and the thing was rusting around the engine and tranny. Best v6 ever made if u ask me. Big, strong, reliable, no one else makes a v6 thats 4.3l. I think ford made a 4.2 thats it.

@haugstule the 4.3 that they use is simply a 350 with two cylinders cut off...so yeah it is just as good, more power, less economy, same design.

I didn't know that the Astro came in a RS version. MIne's a top o' the line awd. Its got 89000 miles and it still runs great.

My 1988 4.3 astro died. I took it to the river bottoms in a soy bean field and I slung all the belts off, threw the fan through the radiator, slung a rod, and the water pump broke off. I put a 350 in it though. Some good came out of it.
whats the difference between an rs and a normal astro? engine, transmittion, suspention, etc?

some of the differences i know are:
has the high output MPI vortec motor with full 3 inch exhaust, side luavers in place of rear side windows, and rear sway bar with sport suspension and RS badging and a specail paint job. other then that i don't know
