  • that must be a pain in the ass trying to get traction on those tracks in wet conditions, no?

  • No, not really. Low gearing (25mph max speed) and hydraulic drive certainly helps. Where I live, it's not unusal to see a 26t loco pulling an 800t+ load. Wet or dry conditions dont make much of a difference.

  • What is that gauge of the track???

  • 2ft or 610mm

  • Please share some Australian sugar railway image.

    請多分享一些澳洲糖業鐵道影像,謝謝。

  • I have more on Mini DV tapes but need to buy a new camera to transfer them

  • 2 FT Guage...yikes...I thought the engine was going to eat it on the curve...it just looks so wide for the track.....What about the rail size ?...I am guessing 55 pound rail ...thanks for the post.........Cheers.....EL Fat Boy Texcino.......................................

  • This is a long big train, congratulations. Regis...Brazil

  • Awesome! Great Video.

  • Is this a 2 foot gauge line ??

  • chain drive?

  • Shit, is the track just thin or the train just fat.

  • Ah, yes, wet tracks DO make a difference to braking and starting - especially with larger rakes. Our five Baldwin bogie locos are good performers and their brake vans are a decent help when used on the Japoonvale range section. Bin greasing days are also a total pain as plenty of grease ends up on the tracks near the Mill. Nyleta was built in Zimbabwe in 1990 and weighs 30+ tonnes. It is confined to the Japoonvale-South Johnstone run as it is too heavy to cross bridges to the north of the Mill.

  • Very nice!
