@Shoknifeman I am in California, I see your Canadian. In 1980 I went to festival in Toronto with Rockpile, B- 52's, Pretenders, Elvis Costello and Talking Heads - debut of expanded band. Clash were scheduled but didn't show.
@Shoknifeman You are clearly more knowledgable then me about Shonen Knife and the musical skills of the members. I will watch and listen carefully now to Ritsuko. I am from U.S. and I think I miss subtle things about SK. Are you one of members' boyfriend?
@chowyunfat1000 Well, this isnt actually a Shonen Knife video... but, to talk about your points, I loved Atsuko and Michie also, but, that doesn't make Ritsuko a bad bass player, in fact, my GF is a professional bass player and calls Rits-chan's bass playing "Awsome" :) We all miss Michie who played bass in a style all her own, but, if you watch Ritsuko closely, you'll notice she plays bass much in the same way that Michie did!
@Shoknifeman I really like this band. I admire Naoko very much. She walks the talk of rock. I'm sure you know that she will turn 50 next month. She is amazing. I love reading her blog. But I do miss the band with Mitchie and Atsuko. Naoko has said that Atsuko was a very unique drummer with an unusual sense of rhythm, and Mitchie's songs brought a quirky but fun element to the band's sound, so they are a little less musically diverse these days.
Ritsuko looked super cute even back then.... of course, she's even hotter now

@chowyunfat1000 I saw her live in Toronto, and, she seemed to play very well indeed

@Shoknifeman Well then, I guess that still means she can't play bass well. Thanks for correcting me. What do you think?
