One of the best short stories I ever read was by John Muir that mad Scotsman who decided to climb 40 foot up a californian pine tree in a gale. The top of the tree is whipping back and forth and whirling around in circles and he is hanging on for dear life. The pine needles are rustling and there is the patter of rain on the laurel leaves below, and there is this heady scent of salt from the sea mixed with resin and balsam from the bark of the trees. Exhilarating stuff, just like your song.
