  • Just yesterday I replaced my shimano HG-74 LX 10-speed chain with SRAM 1031 10-speed chain. Words of advice; to those who have an SLX system, purchase the chains that have up to 116 links(not the 114 links) for the 10 speed MTB SLX systems. When I measured the new chain to the old one, I only needed to remove 1/2 of a link to equivalate the appropriate chain length for my bike. Also the black Master linkt did not snap back into place after such as this mechanic showed. I'll be paying a visit...

  • Dont do it this way. Adjust using the chain in the large/large combo (without the chain in the derailleur) then add an inch and install through the derailleur.
