Carl Anderson (February 27, 1945 February 23, 2004) was an American singer, film and theatre actor best known for his Golden Globe Award nominated portrayal of Judas Iscariot in the Broadway and film versions of the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice.
Anderson not only had a prolific solo music career, but also contributed his talent on albums by artists such as, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Loggins, Weather Report, Joe Zawinul, Nancy Wilson, Rippingtons, Peabo Bryson, Brenda Russell, Richard Elliot, George Howard, Eric Marienthal and countless many more. He scored a #2 chart mega-hit in 1986 with "Friends And Lovers," a duet with Gloria Loring that became the theme song for the television soap opera, "Days Of Our Lives."
This track, "Hot Coffee," is featured on his 1991 album, "Pieces Of A Heart." It showcases Mr. Andersons fine vocals and natural jazz talent.
In 2003, after joining a revival of "Jesus Christ Superstar," Mr. Anderson was diagnosed with leukemia and left the show. Sadly, Mr. Anderson lost his battle with leukemia on February 23, 2004.

He was one of the greatest men I've ever known! A mentor, a friend and one hell of a singer. Thanks Carl...for everything. Long live your memory.
