Let's watch NJN (Ch. 50) this Sunday, March 2, 1:00am to pay a tribute one more time to the legendary singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg, performs a 10 song sets. Dan, we still miss you so much! Your music last forever!

Well, I watched it, and I'm sure many others did too. It aired a few times in my area, but I hear some stations didn't show it at all. They did add a small tribute at the end, which was a nice touch. Still wish they'd release a DVD of the whole performance, though. It would nice to see the parts they cut out for the broadcast.

I was fortunate to see this great performer a few times. I actualy saw him in a hotel lounge in Park City and he seemed like a regular person.

I like the song; forfathers.

Forefathers is a favorite of mine too. Dan didn't play it as often as Leader of the Band, but it's an awesome and poignant tribute to life and family. Great song.

GREAT NEWS!!! Dan's wife, Jean, is releasing a wonderful gift for all of us - a new song Dan wrote for her in 2005 will be available for download this month, plus a new CD is coming out later this year. Go to Dan's site to read Jean's new message - click on the News page. She is an angel.

The song was written by Gene Clark(deceased)of the Byrds. This was one of his favorite tunes. It's not one of my favorites from the Byrds.He could of sang I am stuck on Band Aide bandages and I would of loved it. I just love watching him perform. Seen him in concert twice and was mesmerized by his voice and style of music that he wrote. What a wonderful musician!!

I remember watching this special on PBS and being very concerned. He didn't look well and his voice didn't have the same strength. I heard that Jean read comments we all wrote to him in his last days. I hope he understood how much his music touched our lives. What a beautiful soul.....thanks for all you gave to us, Dan.

I heard him live in concert in Kettering Ohio sing this. I had just finished my last chemo session that day, I felt like crap, and wasn't sure I could stay for the concert. When he cam on stage and sang.....I forgot about the rain that was falling on us, the pain I was in, and my heart just soaked up everything he sang. RIP Dan

Thank you so much for this. I've always loved listening to Dan sing it - another of my many! favorites he recorded. But, I've never seen this. Sadly it crossed my mind that he probably had cancer when he was performing this for us. This is to be cherished....

His wife will be releasing a CD of new songs from Dan on his birthday August 13, 2009...so just because he is gone does not mean he is done...he had many many years of archieves...and there will be more as time goes by. Thanks Jean!! Thanks VMstrider for this video...it is much loved!!
