Demo of how the oil system in the Honda RFVC engine works, as fitted in the XR600 and GB500 and various other bikes by Honda, including how the oil pump self primes after running out of oil.
Interesting to watch it happen, I have increased my top end oil supply with a larger diameter pipe and the banjo bolts drilled out. No reduction in reliability to the bottom end 100,000 miles from previous owner on it. I have done 15,000 in the bikes modified form as a tuned cafe racer I change the oil every 3000 miles and use a basic 15w 40 oil. They run very hot though and I think an oil cooler is a useful mod, which I will be fitting to my bike soon
