  • Personal opinion of mine is that you don`t need all this junk to sharpen blades. You need a stone, hands, and practice. I go back 3 generations of woodworkers and I study woodwork at trade school to get professional license and at school teachers allow us to sharpen tools only by hand and no support elements. Same goes to my father and grandfather. If done correctly, your stone stays flat. DON`T SPEND MONEY ON JUNK PLEASE!

  • somebody should tell that stupid woman to get her sleeves rolled up if she wants to be taken seriously,

  • @Dadams14 As long as you don't ask too much of it, it's OK, but at some point you are going to want sharper, unless you only work with straight grained very agreeable wood.

It's also a nuisance to deal with and not very consistent once you get used to good stones.

The whole process above should take less than a minute if not instructing someone.

  • the guy asking shit at the start is a fkn idiot

  • @Dadams14 at a dollar a sheet, how long before you use up the $50 to $100 a stone costs?? I bought my water stones (800 and 8000 grit) over 25 years ago and I still have over half the original thickness left.

  • I appreciate his skill and effort , but I think 1000 grit wet dry sandpaper glued onto a plate glass sharpens fine for a fraction of the cost.
