@1947studebaker1 Yea, Del admitted on a youtube interview that he sometimes lied about his age and just kinda laughed. He often said he was born in '39 but it was '35. He never really tried to keep it a big secret that he was really 4 years older than he said.

I do remember this film... it also featured Bobby Vee and at one point he was asked HIS age and I swear he said 47. Del shaved a few years off his age as did many at the time. Dave Clark took 5 years off... he's 70 this year but publicity blurbs say he's 65!

This was a frustrating time for Del... he would rather had been in Nashville cutting Country songs than going through the motions on what was a small British tour with Bobby Vee.

If this is 1985, then he wasn't 45, but 51! Never saw him with a mustache, though...Great singer.
