Prince Edward is in trouble after suggesting teenagers find the "risk of death" exciting when they take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. Follow us on twitter at http://twitter.com/itn_news
Very important that young people get to experience life on the edge. Most wont die or get injured; most will grow in life skills and become better parents and citizens. Human life is all about risk. Risk taking is how society grows. Without risk takers and without failure and without learning from failure and from injury, humanity doesn't grow. So Prince Edward was maybe a bit insensitive, but he was right!
I've done the Duke of Edinburg award. It's not really difficult all it really is, is camping. I guess people could die from it if they were stupid enough to jump off a clif or somthing. But really no considerable danger involved.
Opening ones mouth and putting ones foot in it...like father, like son. He should follow the example of his grandmother who just smiled sweetly and said nothing for nearly 80 years in the royal family.
