  • When WTVD was an CBS-TV affiliate and also was part of the NBC-TV network back in 1962. Channel 11 became a full CBS afflilate around in 1968 when WRDU

became a part of the NBC network. WTVD was a Channel 11 CBS Station until 1985.

  • Most stations erase their broadcasts to record again. This is rare.

  • Governor Sanford is speaking in the brand spanking new Legislatvive Building. It's the first joint session because it's the first time they could all fit into one of the chambers.

  • Mike and Fred are brothers.

  • Fred Blackman sounds like Mike Blackman on WPTF radio, is this the same guy?

  • Negro man?

  • Durham is where news cast came from ,so he said Durham first. Now they dont want you to know that .They would rather let you think they they are from Raleigh.

  • What happened to the commercials?

  • Fascinating piece of history. Keep the WTVD-Triangle clips coming. Did he say "Durham-Raleigh"?
