in my case they sound great but not loud at all !
anyway I'm not using EMG because it's the second time Ihave an issue with them and their output
audere or JEast are more reliable !
other brands might work too but Idon't know about them

Is it my imagination or are you playing half a step up? Your playing sounds sharp, as if Mike Porcaro and Steve Luke might have detuned. Just an observation.
