Getting ready for a QRP DXpedition to the Caribbean I setup my Buddipole VersaTee vertical with their new top hat. Made a few QSOs on 20m. Look for us from St Martin/FS, St Maarten/PJ7 and Saba/PJ6 Islands from Feb. 4-11 http://caribbeanbuddies.blogspot.com/ Also at Hamcation, Orlando Feb 13,14 and 15

  • Nice video! greetings from KD7OTA.

  • Does the cap hat do any good for the Buddipole in dipole configuration?

  • Steve, nice job as always. I wish that you wud do a video with the 703 running 100 MW. I've worked a lot of DX on SSB at that power level and w/o gain antennas.

  • NIce how do you set the budd stick up and where do you get the top hat ? kb1pth 73s

  • how do you like the ic 703 compared with the ft 817 ?

    I just bought a new ft817 with a buddipole and a z100 auto tuner

I've yet to try it as I have not taken my exam yet, but its a pile of fun to listen to dx stations for now.
