This is the first of a series I'm calling "Moments." Little videos shot with my Bloggie, with no editing except for trimming head and tail. I'm looking for a balance of random banality and ephemeral beauty. Sort of a wabi-sabi thing: impermanence, imperfection, and incompleteness. Leonard Korin says, "Wabi-sabi suggests that beauty is a dynamic event that occurs between you and something else. Beauty can spontaneously occur at any moment given the proper circumstances, context, or point of view. Beauty is thus an altered state of consciousness, an extraordinary moment of poetry and grace."
In this clip, on my car stereo is the track "Feathers" from the album The Essential Eric Dolphy, Prestige, recorded 1960-61.
