Actually this could be considered a take on Stephen Crane's "A Man said to the Universe:" "A man said to the universe, "I exist" The universe replied, "ah, this fact is true, yet it has not created a since of obligation in me"

If Indeed the guy is restating the word "banana" merely as a symbol of man's pleas and cries to an indifferent universe.

Existentialism? maybe? If you want something from life, you get or gain it yourself or else it wont happen?
