Donny & Marie Osmond are Mormons and hey are loved by the World regardless. Mormons are the nicest caring people. When a Tornado destroyed my town, the Mormons were the only ones that came to help us.. No sign of other churches anywhere.

Personally, I do not really care if he is a mormon. I am a Catholic, and I see that they have many beliefs like us, and ones not like us: like they do not believe the father, the son, and the holy spirit are one god: the holy trinity. It does not really matter to me. I only care that he is the best singer ever, and he had the best personality and pure heart. And he has the prettiest smile. DAVID, I LOVE YOU!!k YOU'RE GOING TO WIN AMERICAN IDOL!!

Actually, wilkinsonguints, you have been misinformed. We, as Roman Catholics of the Christian Community, believe that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one: the holy trinity, and that they are no three seperate beings.

Actually, all the points I made were from speeches made by Brigham Young and Joseph Smith or other key figures. See "Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith" page 345, that God was not always God; "Journal of Discourses" 7:334, Oct 8, 1859 by Brigham Young, that God is not the only God; "Book of Mormon Student Manual" religion 121 and 122, 1996, page 36, that man is not saved by grace alone... I'd love to continue this conversation, but I fear this is not the appropriate medium for it. Any ideas?

Robdawg4: you bring up good points but I don't have the time or inclination to address them and refer you to the fairlds website for those answers. As for grace, I didn't say we believe we are saved by grace alone. I did say we are saved only through Christ which is different. Christ put conditions on our salvation which include accepting him as our savior among other things. Our beliefs are different from mainstream Christanity, as you point out, but we still worship Christ as our savior.

"Saved by grace alone" is from God. There are no other conditions. . there is not a single thing /condition I can "do" for salvation. All the work was done by Christ and Christ alone. Jesus + anything else=heresy.
By the way, thank you so much for the friendly and respectful debate. I'm passionate about what God has done in my life and I love when others feel the same way.

Do you really have so much time on your hands, that you spend you life laboring, arguing, and trying to discount what others know is true? Sheesh.
