  • 1st-Whoever made the mistake, horns, bass, whatev, its irrelevant...it was the drummers reaction that floored me. 2nd-just because I don't post videos of myself doesn't mean I'm not qualified to comment on yours. You don't know what I do for a living. The work I do isn't often videotaped anyway. Like I said before tho, great groove.

  • See, that's the thing, you're not qualified! For instance, you don't know that this was the third time in a row that this happened at this very spot in this song. I have to sing this, so it screws me up big time. Secondly, what's it matter that we were in a bar, is that your excuse to play badly? what you do for a living is your business. it's just hard for me to take your critiques seriously when the only connection I can see that you have with music is your screen name.

    D.

  • I bet if I were lavishing you with praises you wouldn't care about my screen name, nor would you be questioning my qualifications. It's only a little critique - why get so defensive and demand to see my credentials?

  • That's not so. I welcome CONSTRUCTIVE criticism from anyone, as it only make me better at what I do. But coming into my house and publicly calling me "unprofessional" and telling me to to relax, that it's only music played in a bar is just plain mean and rude. I question your qualifications because criticism is one thing, If you're going to be adding insults then at least back them up by showing how you believe it SHOULD be done.

Thanks for the groove compliment, btw.

    D.

  • Nice groove and it was all going great until the drummer's unprofessional mini-tantrum at 2:40...who cares if the horns played the wrong part? Relax dude, it's only music, being played in a bar.

  • Well, If you're going to criticize, then know what it is your criticizing... It was the bass player and not the horn players that played the wrong part. Send me some links to your professional clips. It's easy to point a finger at others when you have nothing on the table isn't it?

  • @aww123bam LOL! Thanks, aww123bam. We love doing that tune. The snare is a 6X12 Pearl maple. It has a great natural pop to it. I'm playing the edge of the snare during the sax solo to get that bit of harmonic ring that you hear. Because of the size the drum really sucks when it comes to side stick, it doesn't project that well. but for funky 2&4 on the floor there's not much better. Unfortunately I've had to temporarily retire it has the lugs keep popping away from the shell. Working on it.

  • Man yall be groovin, don even trip off the haters.keep up the good work.hey billy this is ken bassplayer.i enjoy listenin to this group take care.

  • Thanks, buuutrus!

  • Get it Don!!!---I love it man!!
