Pulse Man is a gorgeous showcase of what the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive could do. Great sound and color, responsive controls, detailed backhgorunds and above average gameplay. Voice samples are crisper and there are many unique visual tricks employed by the game. The game is hard and deserves some practice to be enjoyed.. 4/5

Pulse Man is an exclusive to Sega's "Sega Channel". It's a game done by the prestigious developer Game freak you created pokemon for the gameboy and many other games for the original nintendo, sega genesis, super nintendo branching out to nindendo's portable platforms as they came.

  • Very colorful and Sonic-ish can't be a bad thing. :D When's the boxed NES games vid? I'm guessing you have Kirby boxed and just wondered what it looked like. :-P

  • @poptartlove2010

The video was another speedrun. Maybe it be better to do a longer form video and examine all the artwork. I have a couple games i got specifically for their external artwork. Castlequest is a poor game with a gorgeous cover. Other games I just wanted in my collection back when i thought i was going to get all my nintendo games in box,

  • This is a great great great great great great game! I acquired this game a few months ago! Did I mention this game is great? =P

  • @segagenesis1989

it's a real looker! a Beaut! you gotten far in it?

  • @fakeplasticball

Nah I've only gotten as far as you have! That "DOS" looking fist keeps pounding me into the floor! :(

i can pass the previous levels pretty easily but honestly have yet to learn all the game mechanics for the game! When I decided to invest on imported games, this game was #1 on my list! I coincidentally got this game & Japanese version of Castlevania Bloodlines in the same lot! As a SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive collector, I was extremely elated to get both games at the same time!

  • @segagenesis1989

is the story different in bloodlines? you ever wonder why the guy with the spear is a blonde in cutscenes and is navy haired during the game.

I think Bloodlines is a great game. got as far as the boss on top of italy's tower or the ammunition factory, which ever is further.

  • It isn't translated, though. That doesn't affect gameplay at all, and the voice emulation is in English in the original anyway, but it is very cool that your cart is translated! I'm going to look for a translated ROM now.

  • P.S. this game is now available legally in the U.S. on Virtual Console.

  • "See, I don't know how to play this game very well." Yes, I see that. :-) I am so in love with this game! It is definitely a challenge compared to Mega Man X and Rocket Knight Adventures, which it bears strong resemblances to, but it's not nearly as unforgiving as, say, Contra Hard Corps. The control techniques are pretty unique, so it takes more time to learn than the average platformer, but I've found, once mastered, the techniques become so powerful that the challenge is fun, not discouraging

  • An excellent video of an interesting game,i have subscribed i enjoyed listening to you talking about the game :)

  • They should of called it Static Man! Haha!!! Sweet review man!!

  • @fakeplasticball

To be honest, I never plugged the Japanese version of the Castlevania game to check the gameplay out. I bought the game simply for the epic cover art! I've seen a fe people post videos on the Jap version of the game and it doesn't look any different from the American one! Due ot the Nintendo/SEGA rivalry of the 80s and 90s, alot of gamers turned a blind eye to the game. When the game came out on the Genesis, gamers discounted the game as not part of the Castlevania series.

  • I am commenting just to let you know that the music is fantastic in this game. Fan. Tastic.

  • @fakeplasticball Yeah, that sounds cool. They did have some cool artwork back in the day on some of the games. I was actually bidding on a toploader modded av cable NES on ebay.....lost though.... :( I think that would be the only way I'd get one....
