Berkeley California in 1906. I can't seem to figure out what these people are fighting about, but everything seemed to work out in the end?

if it is indeed Berkeley, thats the only place i can think of with that road division just like that. although Hearst is a bit steeper than that isn't it? but that hose on the corner 1 block be for Euclid looks quite familiar.

i am third generation berkeleyan, and i can tell you that there are lots of people who don't like the 60s detritus who totally screwed up our town. i invite you to go back to nebraska or illinois or whatever boring place you come from and play politics in your own sandbox. by the way, neither i nor anyone in my family has *ever* voted republican. this has nothing to do with liberal vs. conservative. we are just tired of dirty, crazy scumbags downtown and on telegraph.

Wow! I can see my great-grandparents' house on the left side of Hearst just after the street divides. This is so cool! The house burned down in the Berkeley fire of 1923. Unreal...Thanks Avery!

In the brand new book by Richard Schwartz, "Eccentrics,Heros and Cutthroats of Old Berkeley", this film is dealt with some detail. One of the stars was John Boyd: The Boss Baggage Buster of Beautiful Berkeley. The book has an entire chapter devoted to this charismatic character .
