This is a semi-active version of my exoskeleton. I replaced the spring at the hip with a motor to actively swing the leg during walking.

  • Can this balance a paralyzed person while walking?

  • Oh one more thing, that aluminum fitting that you used to rig the actuator motor and rod, is that a premade piece or did you fabricate that? Again, awesome work.

  • Awesome work!

Curious, where did the hip and waist molded form come from? Did you fabricate that yourself and if so, how?

Also, what is the purpose of the spring and what looks to be sensor configuration on the actuator rod toward the knee attachment? Is it to sense travel or is it some sort of force feedback sensor to sense intention of the user?

I'm just in the planning stages of an exoskeleton and would greatly appreciate your insights.
