It IS from a DVD. This so-called "stupid opera" (not to be confused with the non-operatic movie by the same name) is a major work by Richard Wagner, and this is one of the most highly acclaimed presentations of our time. The conductor is Daniel Barenboim, and the person in charge of staging is Patrice Chereau. You can probably find it on Amazon's site.
