Hey, I'm the girl from the documentary. Thanks for your comments - it's always nice to hear from other people who suffer from Crohn's. Fortunately, I have been in remission for about 3-4 years (and off drugs) now so fingers crossed I don't have another flare-up! This video is hilarious - my face is soooo swollen from steroids, I hope I never have to go down that road again.
This is a great piece. I was diagnosed 2 years ago but it probably took about 6 months from me first going to the doctors (after suffering in silence for a while...) until diagnosis after being admitted into hospital very ill.
i feel there are a lot of preconceptions about crohn's disease aswell which only makes it harder for sufferers.
you talk about how you were happy to find out what it was i know the feeling, I used to go to the er everytime it got bad but now its like oh boy here we go again time to go fetal and be in pain but not scarry you know
hi.. iv'e had crohns for about ten years,,on and off. i had the operation to remove parts of my guts..not a pleasent experience at all..but in the long run i'm glad i went through with it because without it things could have got a lot worse. now i feel fine with just the odd flare up from time to time.
