Well, Chris, being post op, passible, sane, integrated and busy interacting with great clients in your everyday scenario, I don't particually need to parade and wave a rainbow flag. But I'll be damned if a stand by and allow a loathsome dyke like Julie Bindel make unwarrented and highly inaccurate remarks about me. her ignorance and bigotry reeks. So no, I'm happy to stay clear of the Gay Community. It isn't MY community anyway.

The biggest reason people misunderstand us trans folk is because they look at the definitions for sex and see it speaks of the physical only. This definition originated when sex was observed in plants in the 1600s. But plants don't have brains. Study of the human mind didn't really start until Freud's time in the early 20th century. Sex didn't include the mental for humans because of the way our world was in the past. We need to realize it's not trans people who are wrong but the definitions.

@amygurl63 I really dislike Julie Bindal and her bigotry, but I don't think throwing a slur at her (dyke) is helpful. In fact, it's quite hypocritical. Don't misrepresent the transcommunity by stooping to the same level as her. Also, I live in San Francisco, and there is more unity amongst trans and gay people here, although there are still some problems among groups. Not all of the gay community is bigoted/discriminatory against transpeople.

Poor widdle white boy. He and his bros have disenfranchised and oppressed women and minorities for thousands of years and feels so entitled to it, that if he's told to take his foot off our necks, we're apparently taking away HIS right to lord over us. Misandry btw, originates from word misanthrope which means the hatred of man - as in mankind, not men. As Carl Sagan said, there has never been any word in the English language which means the hatred of men.

I always look at the underdog and Julie indirectly did provoke interest on trans issues expressing things many thought at the time even my own ignorance but we need to move on through conversation education and integrity... its the witch hunt I despise~ always easy to target women or minority... its perception to realise the who what when and where...Target the real ISSUES Governmental law, NHS etc which really prevent open minds and progressive behaviours...
