First Flight of the Full Scale 1909 Bleriot XI replica

This is the first test flights of the Airdrome Airplanes Full-Scale Bleriot XI replica. Engine is a Rotec R-2800 (110 hp). Temperature was 19 degrees F. Winds were from the north at 15 - 20 mph. Runway was 9 -27.

What would you guys think of this engine in a full sized replica Nieuport 16?

No problem. They are already using it in the full scale Nieuport 17s from the movie Flyboys. Also in a several full scale Nieuport 28s and a full scale Sopwith Camel.

There was a two-seat version also. Robert also has built one with wing-warping instead of ailerons for roll control. That's too much adventure for me.

the wright bros were pretty much left in the dust in rapid order by these "tractor" designs of the very same period the wrights were in developing their designs
