This is the first test flights of the Airdrome Airplanes Full-Scale Bleriot XI replica. Engine is a Rotec R-2800 (110 hp). Temperature was 19 degrees F. Winds were from the north at 15 - 20 mph. Runway was 9 -27.

  • No problem. They are already using it in the full scale Nieuport 17s from the movie Flyboys. Also in a several full scale Nieuport 28s and a full scale Sopwith Camel.

  • There was a two-seat version also. Robert also has built one with wing-warping instead of ailerons for roll control. That's too much adventure for me.

  • the wright bros were pretty much left in the dust in rapid order by these "tractor" designs of the very same period the wrights were in developing their designs

  • the designer was Louis Bleriot III

  • I got to visit a bit with Eric last weekend and have a seat in this Bleriot. Simply fantastic!
