  • The clean EL34's sounded a lot warmer then the 6L6's which were sharper and less chimey.EL34 gets my vote.

The crunch on the El34's was softer and the 6L6's was heavier, 6L6 gets my vote on this one.

And for the third channel the EL34's take it again, I think the 6L6's make it sound a little to "British metal"

Overall I would run with the EL34's

  • @xenith21 I agree with you, Thanks for your time to write your opinion.

  • Man, I really like both. But the el34 actually has my ear more. Were the setting exactly the same for both sets?

  • @purpledc1 Thanks for watching, Yes, same everything. One thing I might've forgotten to mention is that speaker in the combo is not the original is a Celestion V30.

  • Clean el34, to me it sounded fuller and warmer. Crunch i like both and lead i prefer the 6l6 has a more agresive bite wich i love in the leads, but for slow ballads or music like that, el34

  • 6L6s sounded more brutal

  • clean sound is little more chimey with the 6L6s

I like the mode IV sound with the 6L6s too, tighter and more focused

  • Awesome! Thanks!
