I think it's Cincinnati 1989, semifinal. Gilbert won 3:6 6:3 6:4; later he defeated Edberg in the final 6:4 2:6 7:6

Brad's running backhand passing shot is unbelievable.....best one handed backhand passing shot pre-Fed....especially that down the line thing.....with a continental grip! I think it's why he gave Boris trouble....Boris's game was built around attacking the other guy's backhand and coming in. From the baseline, Brad could just junk
Boris and wear him out....

It is Cincinnati, I live in Cincy and saw this live. The THRIFTWAY sponsor to the richt and left was a BIG grocery store here back then.....and CHIQUITA was a big time sponsor and company here in Cincinnati

Wow -- look at Gilbert stick to his game plan of taking the pace off the ball. The only time he tops over it big is to put the ball by Becker at the net. Just amazing discipline!
